First Impressions

England so far is rosebud wallpaper. It is bubble baths, earl grey and crisp white sheets. Last night I went to bed too early - homesick and jet lagged - but then woke up the next morning to find the entire world covered in icing sugar snow. The views are so surreal that my best photos are taken out of windows. It feels so strange to be here that I read back through scribbled handwriting and don't even trust my own memory. I'm sleeping in someone else's bed, living someone else's life. Looking after someone else's kids. But this little corner of the world is peaceful in a way that I haven't experienced in a long time, and it's kind of amazing to have that. (Even if it means cutting all my strings with rusty scissors. Even then.)
